Personal Audio Defeats Google’s Inter Partes Review Seeking to Invalidate its Patents
Defeated inter partes review on behalf of Personal Audio, in a lawsuit it filed against Google alleging that Google Play Music infringed Personal Audio’s patents. The suit was subsequently stayed pending the outcome of Google’s inter partes review (IPR) challenging the validity of Personal Audio’s patents. Despite nearly 70% of IPR decisions resulting in all the challenged claims being found unpatentable, Personal Audio survived IPR with 14 of its 22 claims intact.
