Personal Audio Defeats Google’s Transfer Motion

Successfully defeated a motion to transfer on behalf of Personal Audio. Google’s §1404 motion to transfer sought to move the pending suit to Google’s jurisdiction in the Northern District of California. This is particularly noteworthy as Google is generally known to succeed in such transfer motions. The District Court Judge largely followed Personal Audio’s arguments, finding the Eastern District of Texas’ prior familiarity with the patents-in-suit and claim construction issues weighed heavily against transfer.
