Stradling Partner Gregory Jones was quoted in the article, “Nixed Purdue Chapter 11 Plan May Leave States Ready for A Fight,” written by Chris Villani at Law360.

The article discusses how State AGs across the country could be gearing up for more opioid-related litigation against the Sackler family after the U.S. Supreme Court wiped out a $5.5 billion third-party release for the owners of bankrupt drugmaker Purdue Pharma LP. Jones stated that Massachusetts was supposed to recoup $110 million as part of the global settlement and that the state's AG, Andrea Campbell will likely explore any avenue to get the money. He explained, "What she did today was aggressive.  She did everything she could do to have Massachusetts get as much money as it can, at this point, the Supreme Court knocked down somethign purportedly equitable . . . If you don't pursue any litigation, if you don't pursue alternative ways to get that amount of money, then you're not doing your job."
