ScanSource Announces $144 Million Acquisition of POS Portal to Create the Industry’s Largest Payments Channel

ScanSource, Inc. (NASDAQ: SCSC) announced a definitive agreement to acquire POS Portal for approximately $144.9 million in cash, plus up to an additional $13.2 million earn-out payment. The acquisition will create the industry’s largest payments channel. The combined companies, although they sell through complimentary channels, have little customer overlap with ScanSource targeting the midmarket and enterprise merchants and POS Portal focusing on small to medium-sized businesses.
