Chris Y. Chen is a Partner in Stradling’s Corporate and Securities practice group. He focuses his practice in the areas of corporate and securities, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, commercial contracts and real estate transactions. Chris is experienced in representing entrepreneurs, private businesses, publicly traded corporations and public agencies in various transactional and compliance matters, and frequently serves as the outside general counsel to his clients.
Prior to joining Stradling, Chris was a partner at a boutique firm founded by former Big Law attorneys and was the General Counsel, Senior Vice President and Corporate Secretary of an international satellite communications company based in Southern California.
Chris began his legal career in the Palo Alto office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, PC, upon graduating from Cornell Law School where he served as an Editor of the Cornell Law Review and the President of the Asian-American Law Students Association. He has been named as an Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) Rising Star for 2015/2016 and was selected by Super Lawyers magazine as a Rising Star in 2010, 2011 and 2016. Chris has written various published works, including a scholarly note on employment law published in the Cornell Law Review.
Chris regularly engages in community service. He has previously served on the Board of Directors and the Advisory Board of El Nido Family Centers, a social service non-profit agency founded in 1925 that provides counseling and family support services to disadvantaged communities throughout Los Angeles County.
