Scott W. Shaver

Scott W. Shaver is a partner in Stradling's Public Finance practice group and works out of our Las Vegas, Denver, and Reno offices. Scott has practiced exclusively in public finance since 1998.

Scott represents local, regional, and state governments in Nevada and Colorado as bond, special, underwriter's, and disclosure counsel. Scott has represented cities, counties, school districts, states, municipal utilities, and special districts on transactions of virtually all sizes and complexity.

Another significant portion of Scott’s practice is the representation of investment banks and other banking institutions across the Rocky Mountain and Western regions.

Scott has acted as a panelist and speaker at various public finance conferences. From 2011-2017, Scott was a panelist on and then the Chair of the Bank Direct Purchases and Other Commercial Bank Products panel at the Bond Attorneys’ Workshop hosted by the National Association of Bond Lawyers.

Experience

Served as underwriter’s counsel to Stifel Nicolaus & Company, Incorporated.  The bonds financed the construction and improvement of the District’s campuses.
Served as underwriter’s counsel to RBC Capital Markets, LLC in the issuance of $85 million in bonds to finance the construction and improvement of school facilities in El Paso County Colorado School District.
Stradling served as underwriter’s counsel to RBC Capital Markets, LLC.  The bonds financed the construction and improvement of school facilities.
